Offensive Note Left On A Car After A Fit Woman Parked In Handicap Spot

A fit and able woman has shared an offensive note she received which questioned her right to use a disabled car park - revealing she has a legitimate need despite not being handicapped.

Rita Dembo parked her car in a handicap spot at Noranda Shopping Centre in northern Perth on Thursday, and when she returned to her vehicle she noticed a handwritten note under her windscreen wipers.

'You don't look very disabled,' the note read.

Ms Dembo took to social media to point out that she had her physically-disabled mother with her in the car.

'This is a f**k you to whichever a**hole left me this on my windshield today at Noranda Shopping Centre,' she posted to Facebook group Perth - Have A Whinge.

'I was parked in a disabled car bay today at the shopping centre with an [Australian Council for Rehabilitation of Disabled] permit clearly on my dashboard because my mum is physically disabled and uses a walker,' she said.

'We did some shopping and I told her to wait inside while I quickly go put the shopping in the car so we could continue on.

'After we were done and came back to the car I noticed this under my windscreen wipers.'

Ms Dembo said the note upset her mother, and she was personally offended that someone would assume she was taking advantage of the ACROD parking permit system.

'Who the f**k thinks they can make such assumptions? My mum felt like absolute shit and said she should have come back to the car with me so people don’t think such things,' she said.

'No. I don’t need my mum to come back to the car with me which only took one minute just so people don’t think I’m faking being disabled.

'Next time say it to my face.'
