WHAT IS a disabled parking placard? A Disabled Parking Placard Permit is given to those who are eligible to use specially designated parking spots due to a disability or handicap. Individuals applying for this placard must prove they are eligible for the Handicapped Parking Permit, by having an application form completed by their physician or physical therapist, which they then submit to Richmond Road Registry. Blue Badge Parking Scheme

The Blue Badge (Disabled Parking) Scheme provides a national arrangement of parking concessions for those people who have an enduring disability or health condition that means they have substantial difficulty walking. The Department for Transport provides guidance to local authorities on administering and enforcing the scheme. North Lincolnshire Council Blue Badge Support Team and Community Warden and Parking Service are responsible for the administration and enforcement of the scheme. The misuse of the Blue Badge scheme undermines the benefits of the scheme, impacts upon local traffic management and can create hostility amongst other badge holders and members of the public. If There Are No Restrictions Present

A blue badge holder may apply for a parking place close to their home, subject to meeting certain criteria. The council will consider the application. A resident may apply for a disabled persons parking bay close to their home that can only be used by the holder of a blue badge. Any blue badge holder is able to park in a disabled parking bay. As a blue badge holder, to obtain a new disabled parking bay (for use by any blue badge holder) a successful application must be made which demonstrates certain qualification criteria.
